This roadshow has shown us how much intra-regional travel there is on our continent and why Africans are doing more and more business with fellow Africans. Outbound travel from East Africa, and within East Africa, is set to boom. The economic climate is growing and travellers are looking to explore new destinations and find new experiences, enabled by additional air access routes and ever-increasing connectivity on the continent.  

There is also a significant amount of international travel trade booking Africa through East African operators. These partnerships can be leveraged to build tourist arrivals from global source markets to various parts of Southern Africa too.

The interest in travel for the growing middle class, with higher spending power, is creating a new and exciting market for companies wishing to grow their African business. This year proved again that there is an opportunity to educate the travel trade in the region on travel opportunities and the huge variety that is available on their doorstep.

The creation of e–visas and visas on arrival means that African citizens can travel with ease. Africans do not require a visa to travel to 25% of other African countries and can get visas on arrival in 24% of other African countries.

Air access routes and ever-increasing connectivity on the continent make business and leisure travel easier and more frequent. The exponential growth of bed capacity in many of the major cities in Africa through investment by international hotel chains is also a major contributing factor. Our workshops are designed to facilitate this continental business.
